Playing with Bots

So here is my story. I have terrible internet and an unable to play online properly. What i am looking for is a realistic shooter game experience. Am i able to play project reality with bots singleplayer? Will it be fun? What do i need to get PR to work, do i need a copy of battlefield 2 for the mod to work?

Also are there many downloads available such as singleplayer missions for PR, ones with bots.

You do not need Battlefield 2.
