Question Why do most medics only heal up to 75%? Or am I missing something?

Just a little story of mine for context: I started playing first as a medic, when I healed people I always healed them until there was 4 white dashes, because I though that was fully healing. Then I played a match as a rifleman, SL ordered me to build a FOB and I went for it, I dug until there was 4 white dashes but then I realized that it wasn't fully built, I had to hold mouse1 until I stopped digging.

Applying the same logic while playing as a medic I always heal players until I can't heal them anymore, not until the 4 white dashes are up.

As for my understanding the health system works this way: If you are under 75% health you will start bleeding and eventually bleed out, the 4 white dashes mean that the player has 75% health, and if the medic hold it until it doesn't let him heal anymore it's 100%.

My question is, why do MOST medics only heal until we stop bleeding (75%) if they could heal us up to 100%? That could be the difference between getting shot once and dying, or getting shot once and having 25% health.

My guess is that either me or them don't comprehend how the healing system works. But I don't rule out the possibility of them knowing it and it being a strategy (maybe one doesn't actually need 100% health and healing would just take more time than needed).

Thank you for your post.

To make sure it is clear — the bar is made of 4 parts and they indicate progress like this:
part 1: 0-25%
part 2: 25-50%
part 3: 50-75%
part 4: 75-100%

It means that when all 4 parts are shown, the action is still in progress and is between 75% and 100% done. Only when the action is complete does the bar disappear. In the case of healing, it means the health of the player who is being healed is somewhere between 75% and 100%, as you stated in your post.

It is not really intuitive and for new players it might be confusing. I also would not consider not healing to 100% a valid strategy outside of emergency situations, it probably comes from not understanding the system.

For the next update we have changed the behaviour of the bar so that it never shows 100% progress when the action is not complete.

That's a good explanation thank you.
As for changing the system I would definitely recommend doing that as it will be more intuitive for newer players. I'm glad even though the game is fairly old it's still getting better.

If I was playing with you I would have probably explained but its that, think this is like Minecraft, the block only breaks after it breaks.

good thing your raised the question, but most people would probably complain that you never fully healed them since 75% is still bleading territory (as far I know it doesn't bleed if you have 85% or 90% health.
