Basically it's Armed Assault on steroids for military use only

Virtual Battlespace 2 (VBS2™) is a fully interactive, three-dimensional training system providing a premium synthetic environment suitable for a wide range of military (or similar) training and experimentation purposes. Supporting rapid terrain development, VBS2™ offers large, realistic terrain areas (up to 100km x 100km in size) with an unparalleled level of environmental realism.

VBS2™ is a fully-featured training tool including after-action review capability, HLA/DIS compliance, and a comprehensive yet easy-to-use mission editor that allows any imaginable scenario to be created and also modified in real time. Mission design is improved with a new “point and click” interface and the capability to edit directly in 3D.

VBS2™ is based on the commercial gaming engine Real Virtuality 2 created by Bohemia Interactive.

The final release version has a wide range of functionality, never before witnessed in similar products.

Wide selection of ADF and USMC units and vehicles (over 200)

Multiple fully functional gunner positions per vehicle

New vehicle interaction interface
*

Accurate vehicle animation depicting functionality of doors, hatches and more

Completely new Real Time Editor allows scenario design during operation of a training mission. Can now edit in 3D mode in addition to 2D mode.

An entirely new After-Action Review system

Real-time day/night cycle; accurate star scape, sunrise and sunset based on unit’s latitude and longitude location.

The new product has been delivered to the United States Marine Corps and the Australian Defence Forces and is currently being trialed by many other customers.



Terrain and Modeling tools are currently under development and will be available in the near future.

If that worked over the internet and had some sort of persistent world aspects to it, I'd prolly pay in the range of $300 for a client.

Lol ATM it's $2,002 and restricted only to military personell I think, but HOLY CRAP! watch the video made me almost cry.

Thats what taxes are for. LOL!

Us armed assault users will get our fix when the mod tools come out. Theres no need to pay 2 grand for this.

its avilable to the pub, its just a matter of cost and a kick ass computer to run it lol
