    This is probably the worst place and time to point this out, but you might get better performance by using a new tree model that doesn't have green stuff from top to bottom, instead just having the top covered. Like this in order to get a forest that, on the inside, looks like this. Regular trees could be used on the edges, so it would still offer good cover from the outside.
    Otherwise, it looks pretty cool.

    No mapper experience here, but do you have to place every single tree manually? Or do you kinda brush it there Sim City style?
