Musa Qala Development Update #1 - Compounds

Hey,

Time for my first DEV Blog.
So, I saw a few of you asked about Musa Qala when v1.4 got released, so here a little preview of what happened to it since the [URL="https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f376-pr-event-news/141377-map-test-musa-qala-h-hardcore-gaming-april-30th-1600prt.html"]play test[/URL] we had 8 months ago.


[B]Compounds[/B]

A while back [COLOR="#007FFF"][B][R-DEV]Rhino[/B][/COLOR] with [COLOR="#007FFF"][B][R-DEV]Dr Rank[/B][/COLOR] teased the Afghan v3 statics in [URL="https://www.realitymod.com/forum/blogs/2363/b388-mud-bricks-sweat.html"]Mud, Bricks and Sweat[/URL] Blog.

I basically had and still have to redo all compounds with those new statics and it was worth the wait!

I can't wait to see the same shots after generating the Lightmaps (Shadows).
Obviously those areas are still work in progress.
I want more details if performance allows it!


Also [COLOR="#007FFF"][B][R-DEV]Outlawz7[/B][/COLOR] Made a bridge for the map based from the same location.

    The real question is, will these walls be able to be Wall-bangable ? Is this going to be an MEC vs Taliban map or are you working on an ANA faction? If you are making an ANA faction, pls don't be cliche and give all of their kits M16s and AK74s because there is so much more diversity of weapons in the ANA

    Most likely going to be USMC vs. Taliban, there's a high chance that it could be GB vs. Taliban too. ANA was an idea, but I think there's much more potential for USMC and GB on this map than ANA.


    As for the ANA, I started the project a long time ago, I recently updated the faction to v1.4 kit standard Here's the design plan.

    Design Plan: Afghan National Army faction for BF2:PR (WIP)

    From most documentaries of 2015+ it seems like the that standard issued riffle for their ground troops is the M16A2.
    So, feel free to PM your sources about other weapons than M16s to me.

    Do you mean destroyable? If so then no, as BF2 has a max limit of how many "networkables" you can have ingame, and if you go over that limit, the server crashes, and with the amount of walls required you would quickly go over that limit before you even got 1/10 of the map done

    EDIT: If you mean will bullets be able to penetrate them, then not even 30mm shells from an Apache can penetrate these walls in r/l.

    Musa Qala is in Helmand Province, southern Afghanistan.
