New Overgrowth Fields System Update
Posted in: Mapping
Posted 2009-08-26 at 17:10 by [R-DEV]Rhino

Hey all.

I posted a Dev Journal ages ago on my new Overgrowth Field System here but it has been quiet on that front for some time.

Well these last few days I finally got round to writing my tut on it and also fixing up the finishing touches for the system :)

You can now read the tutorial here on how to get them into your maps: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-modding-tutorials/66161-map-tutorial-overgrowth-field-placement.html

On top of that, in that tutorial you will see the new Maize fields which have not been showcased before, which myself and [R-DEV]Pride made some time ago which I now have some good screenshots of them ingame below. The Maize is really epic stuff, you can't see anything 10m away from you, I literally parked a car in the middle of the field, walked 10m away from it and I lost all sight of it. Driving though it was also really cool, I had no idea when I was about to come out the other side. The maize really adds a new dimension to concealment not seen ingame like this before. anyways here's some pics :)

And I know I've showed the rice off before but here it is again, tweaked it a little but not much since you guys last saw it :D

Anyways with any luck we should see more types of these fields coming out and them appearing in more maps now this tut is out ;)

Hope you guys like the shots etc

looking good finally we can better hide infantry from armor and air, which is usually infantry's advantage, ambush.. but will it be laggier?

It would be AWSOME to build a forward outpost in the maize!
