Map markers after BF2 1.5 patch

Unfortunately DICE changed their settings related to the vehicle drop in 1.5, hardcoding the reload time to 60 seconds. It was their solution for the vehicle drop spam hacks. :?

We use that system today to allow the commander to place all the enemy spottings, waypoints and CAS markers without any delay, as it was a setting we could change. It has an instant reload time now, so you can place as many markers as you want, one after the other.

After 1.5 release it's confirmed that it won't work as it does today, allowing the commander to place only one marker per minute. :( We included a reload bar in the command screen to tell him when he can place another marker.

We are not happy with this, but we will have to live with it in PR v0.87 and we are already working on alternative systems for PR v0.9. ;)

Just a heads up, and please refrain any flaming in your comments. :!:

Being by a long mile the biggest mod for bf2, and responsible for making realism fans buy the game, you guys should definably have a bigger say in these things.

The new BF2 patch although has its gay sides, also has some really neat stuff in it such as the 2142 prone deviation (ie, no more prone diving), wide screen support, anti-hack stuff (if it works) and quite a bit more.

ye, we should epically according to what it says on the BF2 box and what DICE/EA said before BF2 was released, ie, "BF2 will have loads of mod support"....

but the fact is, we dont get any support

Anyways from loosing this marker system all might not be lost, we might even get a better system by the end of it but we will have to wait and see what magic db can conjure

Well, if the 1.5 patch wont bring nothing else than trouble, maybe we can stick with the current patch.. But I suppose that won't be the case.

Good luck for finding alternative method.
