Weapon Placement
In other communities I've been in I've seen this topic argued to death but never seen a true resolution to the problem. Looking at most if not all FPS games past and present the placement of the weapon model has always been wrong in respects to it being fired and it's location. The POV in most games seems to be coming out of the stomach in regards to where the weapon is located. Rainbow 6, Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon simply went without the model but that isn't exactly a realistic solution either. Anyone else have any potential ideas?

I'm sure that we'll try and make the POV as realistic as possible.
But who knows, maybe BF2 has already fixed that problem? |

Yeah thats what I've been going on about! I can't stand having the barrel of the gun being 'the face'. One reason being that cheaters can put a mark on their monitors for showing where the x-hairs are. What should be done is to add another axis or something to the gun, so your gun is kind of swing there next to you as you run, not where its at in FPS like BF42/DC and others.

Cheaters might put a dot there, but that isn't going to help them much. With a recoil based accuracy system, it'll bounce all over the place.

this is the current aimpoint sight that is being used in military today.... Comp M2 and this is what it should look like when your aiming down it(but just add in the forward sight of whatever gun your shooting) i should know...cause i have one on my preban 16" barrelled flat top ar15....just like an m4 but just single shot also....when you look down it while sighting in....it should be a clear picture and not red...the only thing that should be red(besides the red dot) on it that you can see is the end lense and you can only see it from the otherside(i.e. whatever its aiming at) | |

As GA stated, notice how the entire lens is red -- it should be clear. And the biggest problem is that the illuminated reticule is missing.

Hopefully trauma has gotten through to DICE that they need to fix the damned POV problem, something they have yet to do. Tanelorn said the problem isnt movijng the POV, its that the player models are screwed up. The head isnt actualy solid so if the POV is the head than you can stick it through walls and hence see and shoot through them. DICE better fix this, its quite anoying.
