a. Note that different roles use different overlay options, especially for pilots. The four linked Overlay files above all differ quite a bit, the commonality is deselecting the "Avatar" and "Mute state" tick boxes. Most people do not use the "bounding Box". The "Channel" tickbox will show the Squad number because the channels are named "Squad 1" "Squad 2" etc. It's good to use, though some argue it lowers the realism. H. 1. If Enabling the PRMumble Overlay crashes PR immediately after starting PR and you reach the first black screen before the PR logo appears, try this: You might want to try adding -nod3d9ex to the end of your PRMumble.com shortcut. Note that this might lower FPS... 2. Quote:

Re: PRMumble Help FAQ and Tips and Tricks
Some Tips and Tricks stuff:
How to fix BF2 Linking if you altered/moved/deleted your PR intro splashscreen movies: Many people had had troubles similar to the one below: QUOTE=Tachidude;1694135]For all those, who cannot get "Battlefield 2 linked" message check if you altered (deleted, change names) of files that are in BF2\mods\pr\movies. I've done this to get rid of intros for faster startup of PR, and new mumble cant link to PR. I started mumble and PR after a clean reinstall - "oh no, not those intros again..." but i looked at new mumble and saw that its now linked with BF2. Again I altered the files by changing their names (by adding "1" at the end) and mumble couldnt link. So for me its either no intros either mumbling. Hope it helps/QUOTE]This is easily fixable WITHOUT having to uninstall and reinstall PR. Option 1 is to redownload the original movies and place them back in BF2\mods\pr\movies directory. QUOTE='[R-COM]MaSSive;1694220']Names areOption 2 is to alter your start up parameters through a command line switch. Just put "+restart 1" in your PR shortcut without the "", such as below: QUOTE=SterrUwe321;1694579]XP BUG FIX! |

Re: PRMumble Help FAQ and Tips and Tricks
Pretty good guide...seems to cover almost everything.
Quote:
1. My notebook at least lets you access the numpad(replacing certain standard keys with it) by activating the num lock, which itself is activated through the function(fn) key...if you're quick it only takes a second to activate/deactivate it, though it's still not as convenient as just pressing the keys when you need them. 2. I've seen USB numpads for notebooks being sold at some computer stores, these seem like they would be useful for this purpose, though they'll take up space on your desk and cost money. Thankfully I don't lead squads too often yet...when I do I'll probably go with option 2. | |

Re: PRMumble Help FAQ and Tips and Tricks
Press Win + R and type "%appdata%" in it (without quotes) and press enter. It should open YourUsername>AppData>Roaming
Then you can delete complete mumble folder after you uninstall mumble first. Reinstall and it should work. I think mumble uses sqlite database to keep data so editing it and tweaking is not a good idea. |

Re: PRMumble Help FAQ and Tips and Tricks
Been trying to get Mumble to work for a week now. I can login to the main server but when I start PR Mumble doesn't link up with it. Yes I am running as administrator.
-I have BF2 installed on D drive and Mumble installed on C, does that make a difference? -I think I read somewhere that there's an issue with the PR movie files, which I had deleted to make the game load faster. Could this be the problem? Other than these I don't know what I could be doing wrong. |
