[Win 7] [Solved] BF2 won't load

Recently purchased BF2 with the intention of playing PR but I can't even get the game to load :/ When I double click the .exe it brings up a BF2 loading screen, then goes black for 5 seconds, and then brings me back to the desktop without any error message. I've tried running it off the cd too but no luck.

I've gone in to My Documents and changed the resolution setting to 1920x1080 at 60hz (which are the settings when I go in to my monitor properties) but once again, no luck.

What other options have I got? Thanks.
