That was actually the best suggestion I've seen so far.

I like all of these ideas, mainly the reduced effectivness of self-healing. To take that away would be extreme and pretty unrealistic as soldiers (even medics!) are trained to stop themselves from bleeding.

Taking away their healing ability however should wait until there is a way to heal the troops. Aid vehicles or aid stations at the main bases would work for this.
