Just tested them with PR and the sound is pure awesomeness now, both with and without EAX enabled the sound is an another dimension now.
Just don't forget to activate PR in Alchemy to fully get the EAX effects.

No, the sound comes out much brighter in overall, it's a matter of liking. I'm not sure I myself enjoy it. I like the more softer sound that goes with Creatives driver.

Yes same custom drivers, only this is new version. 1.5 so if it is better indeed worth updating. Maybe test it and update your post? Or merge with your thread.

Just updated to this version, and it seemed to install better than the original drivers to say the least, not sure about any noticeable difference in audio quality, but then my speakers have adjustable bass, so maybe that takes care of the "added bass". But either way, no problems so far

Maybe the difference can be more noticeable on a high end system.
I no longer recommend this drivers. Sure for PR the sound sounds more real, but for movie viewing and music listening the sound comes out to hard, somehow annoying.
