Default [Map] Operation Pallid Wind [scrapped]

I'm a fan of Amphibious Assualts and the maps made by DICE and Muttarah City, really dissapoint me because of the closeness of the carriers to shore. The days of "real" Amphibous Assualts are over, no more WWII style type of things, on Wake Island, tanks can sit by the shore and take anyone out on the carrier. So my idea is have an invasion by land, air, and sea.

Operation Pallid Wind
Joint-Taskforce Marines, consisting of the 26thMEU, Third Battalion 5th Marines, and 42 Commando are assualting a chinese force that has taken over parts of Taiwan. The 26thMEU is assigned to be the first boots on the ground as the Amphibious Assualt force to get a foothold in the region. The PLA has moved its forces in trenches are are dug in determined to put up one hell of a battle.

As for the Amphibious Assualt. I have it planned so that the Infantry can easily get to ship to shore with no problem, but they must advance and break through a baricade while under fire.. Of course the Marines will have 4 Cobras for close air support. While have Anti-Air just as easily available to shoot down cobras.

My mission for this map is to make the infantry work as a well coordinated group where they have to disable the Anti-Air secure the position so that Close Air Support can fly in easily and dominate the battlefield. This means that Infantry needs CAS to win and vice versa.

I'm started working on three maps so far. With two more in planning.

Screen Shots are coming soon, just gotta put them up on photobucket.

One of the best things you can do is draw up an overhead layout. Use MS paint if you have to hehe... but a top down schematic will really go a long way to directing your mapping efforts and .. imo .. no map project should be done without one.

Cheers!
