Vehicle Spawn - airdrop?
I have searched thoroughly....
After sitting around watching the unrealistic spawn system, wouldn't an airdrop ala VBF be more realistic? Incredible no one has suggested this. Problems are: 1. People being crushed - make drop zone clearly identifiable plus game message to relevant team? 2. Heavy vehicles can't be airdropped - even so more realistic than the present system 3. Aircraft can't be airdropped - true but as above 4. If a vehicle is in drop zone both would be destroyed - mark area keep clear or put DOD? 5. Last airdropped vehicle unused and therefor still in drop zone = both destroyed. 6. Just to sneak in CO Land rover/humvee drop once every 30 mins...(that's gotta be a re-suggestion though) maybe more relevant since 0.9 and RP death? OK so if its too silly to airdrop heavies and aircraft, at least those vehicles that can be airdropped could be - Land Rover, humvee, UAZ, trucks? which all spawn the quickest. Ok maybe too many problems but still nice to hear what people have to say anyway? |

Re: Vehicle Spawn - airdrop?
Yes, I'd rather have light and medium vehicles get some sort of air drop animation instead of appearing magically. And perhaps that small smoke marker (from vBF2) would appear before to warn players not to get crushed. So say 1 minute before the APC spawns you would start to see a Bradley dropping down with a couple of chutes. After 50 seconds it has landed, and give it 10 seconds to get rid of the chutes then you can enter it.
If not hardcoded, that is. |

Re: Vehicle Spawn - airdrop?
Meh, unnecessary and since it couldn't be applied realistically to all vehicles, what's the point?

Re: Vehicle Spawn - airdrop?
Meh, I'm never at base to notice the spawn. Would have very little effect on most INF players.

Re: Vehicle Spawn - airdrop?
? Seriously I really can't see this being implemented, it is pretty rare to see a vehicle spawn as it's only whilst in main base so unless you're waiting for it you don't see it. Thus I just don't see it being necessary to put in a complex spawn system like this when it wouldn't change much in-game. |
