Multi Objects Unwraping (3dsMAX v9,8,7,6,5)
For those of you that are having trouble uv mapping multiple editable polys or meshs (Note that it will only support editable polys/meshs)
Now i know it doesnt say support for Max9 but it does work as i use Max9 and i use the script all the time. Multi Objects Unwrap Script Usage: 1- Select the objects you want to unwrap and click on 'unwrap UV's' : edit them. 2- When it's done click 'set UV's' ( don't forget ! ). Known limitations: - Only polys and meshes are supported (the other objects are converted to Poly or Mesh). - instance or reference objects could not work at this time. (untested) Options: - work on channel : the channel UV on which the script operates. - copied from : copy this channel as starting point (optional). - don't use Channel Info : don't use the Channel Info interface for the copy. - use previous unwrap: reuse the last 'Unwrap' modifier when It's possible. - convert to polys: converts the objects to editable poly. No undo available. Have fun and let me know if this helps anyone. |
HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth |

download the script...
drop the script in your max/plugins/ then go run max script in Max but anyway there should be a readme in the download let me know if theres not |

Re: [Tool] Multi Objects Unwraping |MAX9,8,7,6,5|
meant how are you using it, if you have one object why you need a multi unwrap. Or do you keep you object inseperate parts.. Or is it for wheels which keep seperate then used in a bundle.
Understand that you put itt in your max then use in stack or script |

Re: [Tool] Multi Objects Unwraping |MAX9,8,7,6,5|
ah right its for uvmapping multible parts at once as in max9 it does not support editing multible uv maps at one time... i know max 2008 allows you too but not in max9 to use this is simple
Select all the items you want to have on the one texture -go to where you put the tool (i put it under the modifyers tab) -click it then click unwrap UV's -Then edit as you would a normal UV map BUT! make sure that when your done editing the UV maps make sure you click Set UV's extremely important as if you dont you will lose all the work you just did. |
