Also didn't work for shit for the BAF in the lead up to Iraq, a British Major was telling me horror stories. It's not working particularly well in the lead up to deployments here either from what I've seen. Some soldiers not training with the kit they're deploying in, that sort of thing.

There's supposed to be a restructure of how DP1 gets issued coming in, so with any luck, stuff like this could end up being standard issue to a lot of soldiers, which should help alleviate some of this crap. That also seems like a pretty good opportunity to look at phasing out some of our outdated equipment. I'v heard it's going to be a nightmare to introduce though.

Still wake up every morning glad I'm not in RAAOC; not that they do bad work. I'm just glad I'm not the one doing it.
