Mumble open mike?

I was just wondering if there was a way to set Mumble local or squad chat to open mike and be able to adjust it for pick up like you can do in team speak.

Having to communicate on the fly where you are already pushing a bunch of keys get a little cumbersome while you are trying to dodge grenades and ak's.

The PRMumble Devs purposefullly removed the ability to do so to prevent the downsides of allowing voice activated comms.

What would be the downside if the open mike feature was available only for squad chat where there is only 8 players max?

I can see it as bad for local or squad leader chat.

In other games I use TS on it is nice since you don't have to dedicate another finger to key something when you are in the action.
