Well which is your video card and is it active? Is your monitor attached to it or on internal?
You need to disable internal graphics and switch to dedicated one in BIOS of you mainboard. Also before you do that remove intel graphics drivers. |

Re: PR using internal video graphic card instead of my GTX850
Hold on. Massive, he has a Asus ROG gaming notebook.
All you should need to do is turn your Power Mode settings to High Performance, AND PLUG IN YOUR NOTEBOOK. The Default Power Plans in Win 8.1 have the notebook use the iGPU on all power plans except the High Performance Power Plan. ---------------------- Another option is somewhat automated: 2. Download Razer gamebooster. Razer Game Booster Performance Boosting & Screencapture Software - Razer United States Manually sort through and shut down as many background processes as possible when you use the Gamebooster Boost. Manually Add PRLauncher E:\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe as a Game. Installing GameBooster adds a new Power Plan to the Windows Power Management, it's called "Razer Game Booster Power Plan" Make sure Gamebooster is running in the background , for the next part: 1. download bitsum processlasso free 64 bit . https://bitsum.com/processlasso/ install it. run it. start PR, join a server. alt tab out, Processlasso is in the taskbar, open it. Right click on PRBF2.exe , set to Gaming Mode Right click on PRLauncher.exe , set to Gaming Mode explanation: https://bitsum.com/docs/pl/Gaming%20mode/ In ProcessLasso->Options->Configure Application Power Profiles Add PRBF2.exe to the Razer Game Booster Power Plan Add PRLauncher.exe to the Razer Game Booster Power Plan Save your changes. I can also offer this: You can unpark the Cores of the i7-4700HQ, but PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF THE TEMPS. In ProcessLasso->Options->Configure CPU Core parking Then do this: 1. Pick Razer Game Booster Power Plan 2. On AC : Disabled 3. On AC Move slider all the way to right 4. On Battery : Enabled 5. On Battery : (This is up to you, you can slide to 10% to 25% to 50% , it will slow down your PC, but extend battery life, the lower the slider, the slower and less energy consumed) 6. Tick the "Show Parked Settings in Power Options" tickbox 7. CLICK APPLY |

Re: PR using internal video graphic card instead of my GTX850
Yeah, that's my point. I have a beast here, but I can't use the best of it. A few games activate the video card, others don't.
I'm now running on High Performance and this problem persists =/ |

I think I found the problem. I was having the same situation with Chivalry, and I found this:

Re: PR using internal video graphic card instead of my GTX850
go to the Nvidia control panel and select the PRLAUNCHER.EXE, then the PRBF2.EXE, and choose each to run the NVidia GPU instead of the integrated GPU. Hope this helps.
1) Manage 3D settings 2) Program Settings 3) Add Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe ex. C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe 4) Select the preferred graphics processor for this program. Choose your discrete GPU. 5) Add Battlefield 2\PRBF2.exe ex. C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\PRBF2.exe 6) Select the preferred graphics processor for this program. Choose your discrete GPU. |

Re: PR using internal video graphic card instead of my GTX850 ( Nvidia Optimus )
Don't worry about the support info; my laptop utilizes my dedicated video card fine and it also says the Intel 4600.
Download GPU-Z and see if the game is actually using the GPU. Problem could be elsewhere. How are your temps? Maybe your CPU is throttling. Try downloading and running Throttlestop. It can force your CPU to run at full speed. ALso check to make suer all drivers are up to date. |

Re: PR using internal video graphic card instead of my GTX850 ( Nvidia Optimus )
I also have an Asus laptop with both graphic cards.
As said before, when checking dxdiag it'll always choose the chipset, and LITOralis's fix will do the job. |
