Security effect internet speed?
Hi,
I am asking if the security on my gateway effects the internet speed. It's currently at WPA2 Enterprise... If I change it to normal WPA or such... not "Max protective" will it make ANY difference? I turned my firewall off to see if it helped... and nope! Thank you, all help is appreciated. I will contact Comprice, I mean Comcast support if needed! But no way they will come out to my house for $70-$100 for 'fixing' the issue. Again, thanks. |

Re: Security effect internet speed?
Thank you, Sorry I am not a smarty at internet stuff! :P
BTW, Do you know if bridging your modem helps internet speed? I have another router I am gonna use if bridging my gateway now will make the speed fast on the router I own. (It's a Linksys Ea4500) I am supposed to be receiving 105mbps DL, 20mbps up. The router is capable of 400mbps-450mbps apparently. Hate to ask that. |

Find a way to use an ethernet cable to your pc, you'll be much happier for it.

I had my ISP switch out my gateway today, since the Wifi was acting up. But I was also considering of getting a new USB wifi adapter. I'll see new powerline adapters.... they aren't that much money. Just, I want to know how much speed I'll get with them. | |
