Vista Game still crashing after latest patch

My game starts, video plays, and then it closes to desktop. I downloaded the latest "fix" and it is still doing the same thing.

Just edited my C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file by inserting a blank first line using MS Notepad and now it works!!!

Run as windowed and see if you get an error.
