Shell drop for WWII vehicles

While having no shell drop on APCs and tanks normally would make sense, as it is computer assisted, this doesn't really apply to WWII vehicles anymore, and point-and-click doesn't really seem to fit with the time period, where finding out the range is perhaps the most difficult trade of the gunner, which is why I feel like it would make sense for shell drop to be introduced to WWII vehicles.
