Crosshairs maybe? Or how about every shot being tracer?

Not gonna happen, we discussed this already. It's currently true to life, however, the use of tracers is quite controversial as not all mags were filled to the brim with tracers if I remember. In other words, having constant tracers won't be such a good idea realism-wise.

The hull gunner used tracers in real life to correct his aim. So more tracers would be good.
Even with all tracers it won't be easy, the bullet hit will mostly lag the target.

Didn't say that they didn't use it, but rather all the rounds weren't tracers. And there won't be any lag with the bullet velocity and fire rate thus it will be god tier, but for a specific situation that is unlikely to occur that often.

I say Beta test is the answer, like slow turret rotation came in, everyone cried and it was taken back. And when the gunner would start firing the first 10s of rounds would be wasted to know where the aim is and then the after that, it's not long for the MMG to heat up and jam.

The way front hull gunner is supposed to be used is clearing bushes far right or left of the tank, to scary off and anti-tank guys. Rarely a target in front below the tank would present itself. Its useful for bushes all day and some pretty rare situations rest of time. When no bushes are there switch to targeting cover and windows. It should always be manned to clear bushes and lock down the front.

Say if a large German force broke from cover crossing a field, hard to aim but you can sweep them.

Just a fellow dev doing some research, don't mind me.



At 3:45 - Would this part be the hull gunner? Trying to find references to it.

One reasonable solution would be to reduce the smoke radius so you can easily see where the barrel is pointing when firing, depending what muzzle looks like irl for the weapon. The smoke currently fills up the screen instead of it being around the barrel. Need to look at footage of the M1919/hull gunner in action.

Forgotten Weapons had a decent shooting vid on the bow/hull gunner:


Gameplay-realism wise its in a good spot rn imo. It's an area target/ suppression gun with 200rnds and 9 boxes in reserve. With all the gripes people have about the US being OP this is the one aspect I didn't think people would care about to buff. Removing the muzzle gas just taking up the whole screen would help but in practical terms actually changing the brightness of the tracers might help since atm people are "aiming" with bullet impacts.

Thanks! Very nice video.

Yeah I'll see what I can do with the smoke and figuring out tracers. Right now, it uses the coax muzzle effect.
