Re: Common PRMumble Voice Chat Issues
Issue 1: I can't hear anyone talking despite hearing other game sounds
Reason 1: Some countries (like Egypt) block Mumble - a third party software Project Reality uses for voice communication. Solution 1: You have to use a VPN. Reason 2: Connection. On some occasions PRMumble may fail to connect to a server correctly. It will be indicated by an appropriate icon in the lower right screen corner. You can see that icon on the picture above on the left side. Solution 2: A restart of the PRMumble client is usually enough. You do it by ALT+TABing to desktop, finding PRMumble in system tray, right clicking its icon and pressing Exit. The PRMumble client will restart automatically and you don't have to do anything. Nicknames of currently talking players may initially not appear correctly for a couple of minutes after restart. If despite numerous attempts the issue does not disappear, open PRMumble client by left clicking its icon in the system tray, screenshot the whole console output at the bottom and create a new thread, including the screenshot in your post. Reason 3: Your PRMumble may be muted. You could have muted PRMumble either in windows audio settings or using the PRMumble Deafen Self option (indicated by the icon you can see on the picture above in the middle) or using special PRMumble shorcut for 10% volume down which is not assigned by default (so it's not possible unless you manually set it up). Solution 3: Make sure PRMumble is not muted in windows audio settings in system tray. Then, make sure the Deafen Self option is not enabled (you can check it by right clicking PRMumble in system tray, Deafen Self will appear as one of the options in the context menu). Lastly, make sure you have a button for 10% volume up and just spam it. Reason 4: Output device is not correctly set. Solution 4: Set the correct output device. If you don't have PRMumble launched, you can open it in Code:
PRLauncher ---> Options ---> PRMumble ---> Launch Code:
Options ---> Configuration ---> Audio output Click Apply and close PRMumble, otherwise your changes won't be applied! |

Re: Common PRMumble Voice Chat Issues
Issue 3: I have changed X in settings but the change is not applied
Reason: PRMumble has to be closed after every change in the settings. Solution: Click Apply and close PRMumble after changing settings. If you are in-game, PRMumble will restart automatically after closing the PRMumble application in the system tray. |
