Transport Helicopters
Some helicopters such as the Mi-24 "Hind" (all variants) have the capability of transporting troops, but in-game it is only included as a CAS Helicopter. & What i am suggesting is adding 8 seats to the Mi-24s back compartment.
It sounds absurd on paper. But if included, it will allow for some maps to have more variation and possibly create new approaches to how infantry conducts an attack on an objective. |

Re: Transport Helicopters
This used to be the case on certain Hind variants. It was removed. I think the reason behind the removal was the fact that using it as an inf transport would be defined as a waste on almost any server.

Re: Transport Helicopters
While I could find no use for the CAS transport seats... Several reasons.
-Most pilots just fly around aimlessly without regard for anti-air locations, assuming its not on the half of the map starting from main, then not flying beyond the most forward friendlies -The CAS hind should not be used for hot drops, its very valuable and would have to choose the safest, meaning the furthest drop point -Squad leaders don't pick the best grids to land with regular transport choppers, so CAS would be restricted in landing zones -If our CAS lands even in a safe spot to drop troops, that puts them below an Apache or Cobra which doesn't have transport seats to land for -Some or most people who play CAS, they have this exclusive group of friends attempting to make multiple CAS squads so its the same people playing as CAS... These people in their personalities do not and would not help you to begin with even if they are on the ground with you. They do have their own tasking to be fair, building AA, having spotter kit or anti-air kit while CAS is up, plus maybe a sniper. They will not give you a ride with the CAS and its probably the only time I agree with them due to reasons above. Even if you picked the safest spot there is always a risk of something going wrong. These same people play for years without learning from mistakes, like flying aircraft all over the map instead of lingering in their teams half of the map waiting for lase or a target zone to suppress. CAS choppers, especially chain guns should be raining fire in a spiral on impacts on the objective. One 20-30mm round per square meter, very scary to experience that as infantry. |

Re: Transport Helicopters
I would also mention that low flying chopper can be shoot down with tank, APC, SPG/TOW and landed chopper is even easier to kill with these including AT and HAT. So there is too much risk with CAS being also a transport chopper, which usually half the time it's been shoot down with other weapons than AA.

Plus the further you are away, the more like a dot you are in the sky, putting your flares more in the sight ring. CAS pilots need to know the set safety standards. Even with a commander, there can always be a sneaky AA. Commander needs to check the full path for AA emplacements and a sneaky kit guy in the building. If they added back blast for the AA kit and all other launchers, it would require AA players to choose appropriate spots to fire from making them more visible, If they fire from inside building with a wall right behind the launcher, they only get that one shot then die. Of course, despite safety in a simulation which is the perfect place to practice positioning amongst terrain, we see CAS pilots doing repeated low runs. Once that AA kit is dead on the field for 5 minutes but you rarely know when it happens though, its free game. | |

Re: Transport Helicopters
Giving the Hind transport seats would mean it gets less rockets. It cannot do both on full loadout. Not worth it for a feature that would not be used.
Similarly the Merkava needs to lose shells or the seats. |
