Mic wont work.

I had a party for about 1 week ago and I rigged up my friends basses and shit and we changed some of the settings in the "sound effekt Settings" about the output and input. so.. After the party when everyone went home i decided to get my self a PR match. But the mic doesnt work. I have changed back to the previous settings on sound effects but it still doesnt work. I tested it on my brothers PC and it seemed to work so what do you think? the headset is Typhoon Acoustic Bass Headset and my sound card is Realtek AC'97 Audio
