BF2 and PR show strange behavior of 3d objects
The system:
GigaByte K8NF9 Ultra 4 (nForce 4 Ultra) AMD A64 3500+ (S9) 2 GB RAM PC3200 2x500GB ST3500320NS ES.2 Seagate SB Audigy SE Palit GeForce 8600GTS 256MB DDR3, 181 drivers WinXP Pro, SP3, DX9 Nov 2008, clean test install. The problem: The terrain and textures, as well as any 3d objects start to lose quality in 50+ meters, showing totally no respect for "High quality" ingame settings. The terrain keeps sliding and moving until I step on it, and the skyline is different shape with any new zoom factor I use. The same goes for sprite textures and vehicles. Please help. There's absolutely no way of telling a tank from a bunch of rocks... PS: No alternations of GPU drivers settings have been made. |

Re: BF2 and PR show strange behavior of 3d objects
although ur infos are quite good, could you please post a screen shot
objects changing shape is called "LOD" - Level of Detail i am pretty sure it is game (mod) dependent and can't be changed by users is it possible that you just realised it does it because you now use a better monitor (ie switched from blurry crt to tft)? |

Re: BF2 and PR show strange behavior of 3d objects
Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I know what is LOD. No, I can't post a screenshot as it is only a static image. No, I mean the ground surface changing its shape in 50 or so meters in front of you while you move. Yes, I'll try to record a good video and upload it to youtube, linking here |

Make sure your geometry is up on max that determines the way you see the shape of hills etc.
