Microphone Tutorial
Okay, I'm new here, so please give me a fresh start.
I have recently found a way to have the in-game sounds coming out of your speakers, and VOIP coming from your USB headset. I am using a Microsoft Life-Chat 3000 headset.
I made a search, and found nothing, hopefully this hasn't been mentioned in the past, and hopefully I have posted the thread in the most relevant place. If a picture tutorial is needed, I will certainly make one, just ask. Paul. |

Re: Microphone Tutorial
Excellent find and welcome
I don't have a USB headset unfortunately, but wouldn't the in game audio settings get messed up? More specifically the ultrahigh XFI settings might not be available since the headset would be the default device (from the "game's" perspective) Are you using the on board sound+headset or the XFI+headset or something else? |

Re: Microphone Tutorial
Cheers for the welcome.
No, the in game audio settings are fine. The only thing you really change in the settings, are your desired Transmit/Receive volume. The in game sounds are running through my motherboards audio (too cheap to buy a sound card). Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 mobo. To a cheap & cheerful sound system, that I picked up at a Game store for roughly £10. And the VOIP is transmitted through to the headset. Everything is totally reversible. The way I look at it, that it is like having a comms unit on. Like the British Army using their PRR units. It adds to the realism in my opinion. Since I don't have any mates, in real life who play PR, I'm looking for someone else to test to see if it works. And give me their feedback, if it does work. Paul. |
