it is hard to keep track of my audio devices, but realtek said it was uninstalling the ones before it before installing them.

It has to be software, before i re-installed windows my computer ran PR just fine.

Remove the drivers and all the software related to them manually. If you can't get a download for new drivers just let Windows update them for you. But remove them completely!

windows wont update them..... but its strange, i just tried the game and there was no sound bug anymore.

EDIT: now the cracking its barely there, but it wasn't there until after i started PR, it may be related to my headphones.

I will try again to just uninstall both realtek sound drivers and the HD ATI sound drivers, however, windows automatically instals the sound one, and when it does, the bug is still there. If you have any idea about how to make the driver be completely gone and not install itself after booting up i would appreciate it

EDIT: installed now both and the problem is even worse, i am starting to lose faith on BF2:PR

Why do you have 2 different drivers? Maybe that's the problem. To disable automatic driver installation do this:
Start/right click my computer/properties/advanced system settings/hardware/device installation settings/....... choose no and never install drivers.

I think if you actually completely remove all the drivers + any related software and then install it again it should work.

the only things that i have are both realtek drivers (dont ask me why i have both, i was trying to find newer drivers for the same problem) and dolby digital, wich i uninstalled, this time the drivers did not auto-install (i hope still having sound its not bad) and i actually have no sound drivers installed (unless there is an extra one i have no idea about) and the game still has the same problems, next time i will re-install just the basic 0.273 sound driver from realtek and see if the problem is fixed

This error is random at best.

is it related to something called "Audio latency"?

Thanks godness, for the record, i think i finally fixed this problem/reduced it as much as possible without having to reinstall windows/the game/the mod.

Go to sound properties, go to properties of your used sound device.

Manage the last/last 2 tabs and configurate them to add the biggest possible frequency and sound quality possible for your systems, i dont know if the increase of quality is required, but that fixed it for me.

(remember to un-check the option of giving priority to the running program, just to be sure)

EDIT: talked too son....... cracking is back for some reason.

EDIT 2: strange, just started it up again without changing nothing and it got fixed, sadly i think its a full random problem (or the problem is with my headphones)
