Model update, added bumper, wheels, "suspension". Back of truck. Still very much a WIP.

I'm getting there :P. Just a quick question though, what is the ideal polycount I should have for this truck? Why you may ask? The reason is that I am import the model from Inventor, and can vary the quality of the import. I would like to know the ideal polycount to make sure the truck both looks good, and plays well.

UPDATE: Modeled Undercarriage. Necessary for the truck as it has BIG wheels. Work is coming along quite well. High-Res Clay Model. Any DEV input on whether this model, with a good skin, could make it in game on the USMC side of things?

Poly Count On Shown Model is 6,423

Vert Count is 6,982

So you are workin with SolidWorks? Sorry to get a bit off topic but my dad is a design engineer and works with that program too. How long did it take to model it so far?

I am working with Autodesk Inventor, as I am (fairly) well accustomed to it. I then import the model to 3DS Max, as it has an Inventor plugin. Unfortunately, I do not believe it supports Solidworks.

I was actually surprised by how well it imported into 3DS Max.

All in all it took me about 10 hours... I think. Needless to say it came along fairly quick. Look at my previous posts for exact times, as I update (almost) live.

In 3DS Max 08 press 7, or 8. I forgot which key.

Ok go to customize, then click viewport configuration, click statics (the last one and look near the bottom).

I agree. Should be very interesting to see in-game.

Do you have a picture/reference of the factory shipped model?
