Here's a tutorial you might want to do. It has all the basics for 3DS Max modelling. Gmax is basically the same program, so it should cover that, too. It's for gun modelling, but the techniques are very much the same.
http://tutorials.moddb.com/16/berett...ideo-tutorial/ And as others have said, start off with something fairly simple, like the gun in the tutorial. Good luck! Please give us updates as you progress. |

I like to model using NURBS curves.. With that technique I'm now building the MiniCooper (screen is below).. You see that you can get pretty nice curves in that way..
This is all done with NURBS curves.. I followed a tutorial about it and it's pretty easy.. |

What format does the finished model have to be in?
I have Wings 3D, but it only supports a couple of formats. I don't realy have time to model anything either, but I assume you can use any program so long as it will save it as the right kind of file. ps nice start arrow, it looks really good. |

There's a plugin for 3DS Max and/or Gmax available for download that imports to the BF2 Editor. Not sure about Wings. I don't have a link right now; try Google.
Also, when you start modelling, remember that it's really, really time consuming, and it takes a lot of time and experimenting to get it right. |
