yeah, which means that LB pilots would be able to lean out and see the ground. Other pilots would be stuck with the windows...

Well, that's why we have the Left/Right Mouse Click buttons.

As a helicopter pilot you should be observing the LZ and its surroundings on the approach. If there's a vehicle, you wait for it to move (although you should land in a flat, clear spot). It's a little too late to look out of the chin bubble on landing if you're using the correct approach, touch&go.

Or the US and GB, as he's suggesting looking at the chin bubble which can only be done with free look.

when you click/right click the mouse , the yanki head moves to the left/right of the screen , without losing the control of the chooper , why the MEC and chines cant do that with their choopers?

Free look is still from the fixed "Full Body cast - only head rotation - Pilot" position and you can't see anything but a square foot of land through the thing. A pilot could easily lean forward a little and look down to see through the thing, but there is no option to.

And sure, doing a fly by to observe the LZ is ideal, but that's from 40 or 50 'altitude units', for all you know that little bit of grass could step off into a bottomless pit. And still, there's always that one guy rushing to get to (de choppa) the helicopter; being able to watch out for him would be nice, especially if he is the only one you're landing to pick up.

We're talking about helicopters!

A really funny thing to try is to switch to the bombs and right click when taxiing!
