The accuracy is random for RPG in RL. As it should be ingame.
It could be as accurate as a sniper rifle, or as accurate as a beaver throwing sticks at you. The RPG shot at me, most probably hit an air pocket. Thats the only explainable way of how it behaved. Unless there was some kind of shield of god... |

I had my first real experience with this inaccuracy yesterday.
I was on a roof top, about 150m for a US tank (on basrah). Some of our guys were running up behind it. They were in between me and the tank. I take my shot and the missile deviates directly into my own teammate... lol. I don't really care about the deviation, just give insurg another RPG round. Mcminty. |

im really confused what a air pocket is. unless your underground or under water or something i havent the slightest idea of what a air pocket could be. is it a spot in the air where there is no air like in space or something? or a hunk of air that is really hard air and breaks things that hit them? im guessing it was an act of god or some other un known cause. RPG-7 is generally pretty damn accurate, RPG 2 on the other hand fires when it wants to, and where it wants to.

Air pockets can be from a very little amount of air, or alot of air in one spot.

Either that or the wind is simply too strong. Throw some grenades around and watch their trajectory. Some nades fly 10 feet before veering off course due to the wind/weight of the grenade.. Unless the limitations are related to bullet physics relying on the wind..? I'd just increase the mass of grenades/rockets. Or velocity. Just a thought.

Insurgents can't just sprint somewhere, pop up their RPG and fire with perfect accuracy. It would take a few seconds to really aim properly. That's modeled well in game. And don't talk to me about IRL until backblast is modeled.
Re: more deaths from RPGs than bullets in Iraq, most attacks in Iraq are ambushes, not major pitched battles like we see in game. |

If memory serves me well, INS special forces, war veteran, and RPG (and police), are the only classes that have armor, and personally, I never use police or war veteran. So think. With the constant annoyances caused by the loud ass A-10's and the ever present AH-1's, AND the people who whine about people moving the spawn cars, AND the inability to request kits such as LMG's and sniper rifles, instead being forced to spawn at the opposite end of the map to get either.. Did I mention the fact that INS has ONE personel carrier and ONE SA-7 launcher, versus the myriad USMC tanks, APC's, HUMVEEs w/TOWs, planes, choppers etc? Oh, pardon me. There's a whopping one INS tank there too I guess. Regardless though. To keep everyone happy, I often find myself running everywhere. And don't let my forum handle deceive you. It's not my in-game name. Meaning, I don't car bomb that often. And when you run half way across the map hunting an APC down, only to miss the first shot and not destroy the thing the second shot, it tends to get a little frustrating, so "IRL" aside.. slightly better accuracy is probably the least people could ask for.

Or at LEAST a fix for the *%$#@(! pistol sights so when you do run out of rockets, at least you have a pistol that you can actually aim with.
In fact, I would personally prefer a fixed pistol over fixed RPG deviation. Please please please.. |
