Re: Need opinion on custom PC build
Technically my card already matches the 780, considering theres only a 10 fps difference from the reference 680 to the reference 780. Also 3GB VRAM isn't going to do it for me, I'm playing out games that go slightly higher than that. Not really worth paying $91 for it.
I'll step up if they release anything from current reference. NVIDIA GTX 780 vs GTX 680! (1080p & 1440p Performance Review) - YouTube |

Re: Need opinion on custom PC build
I suppose. But I went ahead and got two for SLI because I needed to upgrade from two 8800GT cards so I can run some DX11 games finally. lol
Plus, I plan on upgrading from my Dell 24" 1920x1200 60Hz monitor to either a 30" 2560X1600 monitor or a 1920x1080 120 Hz setup and I will need the extra graphics power. |

Tell me how that monitor goes, I myself am looking for 120hz monitor aswell. 60hz doesn't do justice on the beauty the card can output. | |

Re: Need opinion on custom PC build
I'm stumped by the GTX 7XX series. Don't see the value proposition to upgrade yet, and the drivers haven't been refined even though it's very similar architecture.
Mind boggles that the 780 is slower than the 680 in several benchmarks related to real world gaming. All based on early prelim benchmarking.... but still... |

Re: Need opinion on custom PC build
Really Lito? In all the reviews I've read/watched today, the 780 is reported to be anywhere from 20-25% faster than the 680 in most games.
I'll make a thread here (like I did with the original Core i7 920) and post some of my own benchmarks when I receive my 780s. I kinda hope the Titan and/or 780 brings Maxishine and Trubritar out of hiding on Youtube. Those guys always have the craziest systems. This is what really sold me. The ability to play BF3 at high resolution and ultra high settings with AA and get above 120 FPS at stock settings. I think this is huge if I decide to get a 3D monitor and with the announcement of BF4 coming in October. |
