The MEC aren't real so it's hard to be factual when talking about their choice of optics. If they're really a professional army, you can't say they wouldn't buy their own scopes for the SVDs, just because a few websites say they use 4x doesn't mean the MEC would. Anyway, the L85A2s are going to have 4x SUSATs when they arrive, we don't want the MEC to be forced to be snipers just to compete with the Brits, do we?

The POSP 8x42 scope is the standard for a number of years now Crawley - don't take the poorly equiped Iraqi army/insurgents represent the MEC area.

All are shipped with 8x42 AFAIK - and Malik makes a good point about the SUSAT

Ok, while we are at it lets hmm let me think lets give the Middle Eastern Coalition the Abrams, Galil, Tavor, lets even give MEC the Corner Shot system to make it UBER realistic... man come on you get my point.
