Well I do think and advantage would be if you disallowed the propellers of the helo to pass through objects that way it would be impossible to land in urban enviorments, So instead of landing in the street you could fast rope your troops in. Although I do believe fast-roping is only used when inserting troops into a specific location of a large city, otherwise they would usually insert them a few miles from the city or hostile zone (by landing) and have them go in on foot.

im in 2meb, 12th in mybf2stats for score. but to the matter at hand:
if they make the blades solid you can't land in as many places so the ropes become neccesary. The co-pilot can hit fire to drop them and then secondary fire to release them from helo (fastrope mechanism I saw had a quick-release for pilot, passengers, and at the rop connection to the bird). if you really want smoke this is the 70's prototype for huey's: but the dust should work well enough |
