Yo lads,

I recently got a new laptop with a new videocard (nvidia 840m), i tried installing this like i did on my old laptop in which it worked, but i cant seem to get it to work anymore .

I go for the Fallout 3 compatibility, i turn it into enabled and into high quality but nothing makes it work .

Tried two different drivers and none of them worked.

Curious thing is that on my old laptop, whenever i updated my nvidia drivers to one of the new ones that bring GeForce Experience, it will stop this AO to work onto BF2 .

Anyone possibly knows a solution for this?

It really makes things look way more realistic, specially against surface, so i would love to have it back

Thanks!

Windows 8.1 btw

Maybe GeForce Experience? Version 2.1.2, especially ShadowPlay caused trouble. At that time with 344.11 drivers.

I had to go to Experience 2.1.1. with 344.11.

Since 2.1.3 everything has worked for me.

Okay. This shit is awesome

I'm having SweetFX settings as in OP.

My pimped graphics settings:

And some pics from Marlin, first of pair is without SweetFX and second with SweetFX:

PR is now like a totally new game (if you're even a bit aesthete)

Sorry, but am I the only one who finds that SweetFX only makes it look worse?

The AA is affected and things don't look as smooth.

I don't know.. it still needs some work :/

My friend tried using these exact settings with SLI GTX 970, however the ground is transparent except when scoped in. The problem is most likely the SLI because my other buddy's works, he has a single GTX 970(same model).

(Searched google and couldn't find anything, please help.)

Aye, you're right. The MSAA and SGSSAA settings actually conflict. Jagged edges are mainly because of SweetFX's Lumasharpen - which makes everything look so much better that i prefer having it enabled.
Quote:
LumaSharpen : Also sharpens the antialiased edges which makes them less smooth - I'm working on fixing that.
Did some research and changed settings to 8xQ Multisampling and 8xSGSSAA and set Texture Filtering LOD Bias to -1,5, as described in this article Nvidia Sparse Grid Supersampling:
Quote:
Important things to note

At this point you are pretty much set up for amazing IQ but we're not done yet. You must set the Sparse Grid Sample number to the exact same amount of multi-samples. In other words if you are using 4XSparse Gride you also MUST use 4xMSAA in the profile. Otherwise you will end up with a blurry mess.

You also are going to have to set the LOD bias so there is no blurring. You must change the LOD bias setting from clamp to allow. This is a general guideline on LOD bias settings.

2x MSAA + 2x SGSSAA: -0.500
4x MSAA + 4x SGSSAA: -1.000
8x MSAA + 8x SGSSAA: -1.500
It reduced shining of the edges, e.g. tree leafs when sun coming behind and sun reflections in objects.

e: Pics from same spot in Op Marlin:

Without nVidia Inspector, 8xAA:
