Adding Ambient Sound Effects To Your Map (Video)
Hello everyone, lately I have been taking it upon myself to make a video of most of the advanced mapping tutorials that we have on the forums. This is the first one that I made recently.
Please note that this tutorial is using the belief that you already have a basic understanding of the map editor and it's functions, as well as having it set up for PR mapping. |

Re: [Tutorial] Adding Ambient Sound Effects to your map (Video)
is it possible to copy paste ambient sounds and effects or does it screw it up?
I have copied a ambient sound but when I paste it the white sphere has a grey larger sphere around it |

I personally haven't tried it. I'm assuming that it probably screws up like most things in the editor :P

Re: [Tutorial] Adding Ambient Sound Effects to your map (Video)
ok I guess I should already know that by now XD
also does the volume do anything, and can I use it if I think the sound is too loud? so just to check, for a map I should have most of the terrain covered with those weird spheres, no way easier? |

Re: [Tutorial] Adding Ambient Sound Effects to your map (Video)
If you take a look at most maps in the editor you will see these spheres in specific areas. IIRC, if you have an "Map" ambient sound, (that is to say one that covers the entire map) and then a player goes into these spheres/circles it cancels the map ambient and plays the specific sound file.
I guess what I am saying is that, it's good to have these ambient sounds around the map (especially in high volume areas) but you can use a map ambient sound to cover the "dead zones" where you haven't placed any spheres/circles. Yes - you can use the volume to change the loudness of the files that are being played. |
