LAV is too quiet

This doesn't have to do with the new update unless it was changed, but on Shijia Valley, my squad was manning a TOW position overlooking the river near the airport. We could hear friendly tanks from over two grids away and friendly APCs from about 1 to 1 and half grids away, but an LAV came up behind us and started hitting the TOW position from what had to be less than 200 meters, and we did not hear it until it started firing. I have also had this issue before on other maps of LAVs definitely being within what would be aural range for other wheeled APCs and being close to silent until they start firing.
