[Win 7] [Solved] BF2 won't load

Recently purchased BF2 with the intention of playing PR but I can't even get the game to load :/ When I double click the .exe it brings up a BF2 loading screen, then goes black for 5 seconds, and then brings me back to the desktop without any error message. I've tried running it off the cd too but no luck.

I've gone in to My Documents and changed the resolution setting to 1920x1080 at 60hz (which are the settings when I go in to my monitor properties) but once again, no luck.

What other options have I got? Thanks.

Its possible that you are getting a error that appears behind the splashscreen (alt tab to view the error message works)

Thats what I encountered the first time I installed PR on Win 7

Can't load BF2 either?

Perhaps set the compatibility to Windows XP (SP3) and run as Admin. Does it help?

Whenever my games don't start or run properly I right click the shortcut go to properties - compatibility and Run the program in compatibility mode for windows XP I also disable desktop composition and run as administrator. One of those usually fixes the problem. Hope it starts for you

Solved guys! Someone told me to download 1.41 and THEN download the 1.50 patch. Silly I know but I totally forgot about this.
