[Win 7] [Solved] IP HIDER causing Endless log in / Can't log into acc
hi all.
Well, as the title says i can not log into my account or any other Online acc (Offline acc yes). I re-installed everything, disabled firewall, deleted battlefield 2 from my documents.. still nothing. I don't get any errors, it just happened from one day to another. The only thing i can think of that may be the problem is this IP Hider program i installed. But even unistalling that didn't work so i don't know what else to doo.. It can be 20 mins trying to log in... I used this TCPViewer program to see what ports bf2 was using and this came out: Bf2: localport: local UPD: 60172 UPD: 60173 TCP: 51973 < this one changes TCP: 51974 < this one changes The only thing that worked was installing other OS (XP).. so the issue must be with Win7. I can't understand why, yesterday i was playing and today i can not log in.. !!! any ideas ? |

Re: Endless log in / Can't log into acc
Is it only happening with BF2 / PR?
What router do you have? Tracert a server and post up the results. |

I have 2 routers and 2 internet connections available. I tested both and got the same problem. Router: 1. US Robotics 802.11g. Tracert (PR server): 2. TP-LINK Wireless N Router WR941N. Tracert (PR server): Shouldn't i tracert a bf2 ip ? like eagames ?

Check your hosts file - this one should be empty except for the comments. Check what network adapters you have. There might be a virtual one as remnant of the IP Hider. It needs to be removed (internet might not work afterwards - make sure the other network adapter settings are ok [set to IPv4 set to automatic modes])

Re: Endless log in / Can't log into acc
I had a similar Problem (several minutes to log in)
I googled and got this result wich solved the problem in my case: Accounts wich go online hold a list with favourite servers. These are all pinged before logging in. On high ping times or dead server IPs are in the favourites list it takes long time to log in. The favourites list is in the file "General.con" in your BF2 Profile folders. On my Win7 these are in C:\Users\NAME\Documents\Battlefield 2 look for something like this: GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "85.133.16.72" 16677 "SERVERNAME" 38 I deleted the complete List and only left: GeneralSettings.addServerHistory "" I also tested making General.con write protected and got no errors. |

What i have noticed is that i have files in that folder "/etc",which i've never seen before. Adapters are Ok. The only ones that are virtual are hamachi and tungle. And my wireless settings (IPv4) is set all to automatic. Still.. not working :S Quote:
My problem is not that it's slow, it just never connects to my account

PCproxy.dll ntdll.dl kernel32.dl USER32.dll Some of these files were being used by IP HIDER and when i tried to install this program again i got errors that these files were missing.. |

Re: Endless log in / Can't log into acc
Yes, thats the hosts file i was talking about.
This is very suspicious. "kernel32.dl" .. there is a "kernel32.dll" that is a native windows system file your version seems to try to camouflage as that file. ".dl" does not look very windows-like. Is it maybe a typo by you? I hope you have some AV software... Sorry though, I am out of ideas for the connection issue. You could install Wireshark to analyze the network traffic in detail but that is a rather advanced step :/. |
