Tanks cannot be controlled properly in VW - Challenger2, Abrams ...
independent turret rotation for VW is really bad idea, check it at Silent Eagle wit Challenger2 and Abrams.

Just try to play and drive a tank through the trees, you will see that it is not clear in which direction the tank is turned (the camera only shows the turret) and you will constantly bump with trees. And all this is due to the fact that when the tank turns, the turret does not turn with the tank.

TRUE!!!
Some tanks (mostly EU tanks) very hard to drive in VW. The turret is too big and high, covering the lower body, plus these two parts move independently of each other, making the tank's orientation very difficult. There is no way to know which direction the tank is going unless opening the minimap or going backwards (because the rear part is higher and visible). |

I agree, its a pain in the ass to control 1-man tanks, has been ever since turret not turning with body was introduced..
