[Faction Proposal] Brazilian Armed Forces & FARC
Some facts to support the non-fictional scenario for the conflict.
Colombia is the source of more than 70% of the world's cocaine supply, according to DEA figures. BBC NEWS | Americas | Key Farc role in US cocaine trade The FARC, with some 20,000 members, is active throughout Colombia and headquartered in the south of the country, where it largely governed a region about the size of Switzerland for over 40 years. According to military analysts, the FARC earns between $250 and $300 million through criminal acts, of which 65 percent comes from the drug trade. With this massive revenue source, the FARC modernized its weapons and launched a military and political campaign, the FARC purchased contraband arms and expanded its military ranks. About 2 million U.S. citizens use cocaine, U.S consumption is about 250 tons a year; Europe's is 150-200 tons, and Brazil's 50 tons. Colombia and the US cocaine market Both increased domestic consumption and the creation of cocaine processing centers in Brazil are seen as potentially undermining U.S. drug war efforts. Brazilian traffickers are building a niche for themselves in designer drugs, while the nation’s large chemical industry provides an opportunity to obtain drug-processing chemicals. Brazil’s Escalating Role in the War on Drugs » Colombia Journal Brazil-Colombia border Brazil and Colombia agreed on a cooperation and defense agreement aimed at controlling the one thousand mile lawless common border which is regularly used by drugs and arms dealers as well as the cocaine-funded FARC rebel group. The agreement sets the stage for cooperation in military training, intelligence and weapons procurement. It aims to help both sides police the border between Brazil and Colombia. Brazil - Brazzil Mag - Brazil and Colombia Unite Against Drug Dealers and FARC Terrorists Brazil began bolstering its border security almost as soon as Plan Colombia surfaced in 1999. After three years of military expansion, the Brazil-Colombia border is bristling with new installations. Among them is a new air force base, a naval base, and a set of border platoons stretching from Tabatinga through an area known as the Dog´s Head, where Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil meet. A new jungle brigade based in the Amazon city of Tefe provides support for the 2,500 troops stationed along the 1,000-mile border. These ground forces are supplemented with naval and marine units as well as aircraft at the new Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira airbase. Re: [Faction Proposal] Brazilian Armed Forces & FARC
The main idea is to create a new war scenario, based on the present crisis between Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela, caused mainly by FARC’s illegal activities, such as drugs and weapons smugling. At first will be 2 New Factions BAF - Brazilian Armed Forces FARC - Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - The conflict will take place in the northwestern border of Brazil, the Amazon Rain forest. - Relying mainly on river and air-transported jungle war specialist troops, the Brazilian Armed Forces(BAF) will be striking FARC drug labs, cocaine crops, illegal runways as well drug and weapon depots, inside Brazil border. - On the other side the FARC will rely on guerrilla tactics, defense positions, and advantage from the well known rough terrain and tight vegetation, to ambush BAF. SpreadSheets http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...WTFFPZVE&hl=en Game Features Beyond the addition of 2 new factions,a bunch of new Statics, Vegetation, Weapons and Vehicles, this proposal is about the introduction of new gameplay features. Air Transport Improvements Brazilian troops in Amazon are mainly air-transported, and the terrain and vegetation found in Amazon Rain forest doesn’t allow land vehicles and helicopters landing, so the air transport will be, not the only way, but the better way to go. There are 2 features already in development. - Para-Troopers being dropped by transport planes (probably C130) - Heli-drop hovering over rivers (without landing, no fastropes) New Caches Templates As told before, the Brazilian armed Force(BLUFOR) objectives will be destructible drug labs, cocaine crops, illegal runways as well drug and weapon depots, instead of the usual random cache or fixed flags Factions Brazilian Armed Forces Handheld Assault Rifle - PARAFAL M964 Scoped Assault Rifle - FAL 964 x4 Automatic Machine Gun - FN MAG 7,62 Sub-Machine Gun - MP5 a3 Sidearm - Taurus PT92(beretta 92) Marksman rifle - FAL MD2 x6 Sniper Rifle - ACGL x8 Grenade Launcher- m79 Light anti-tank - AT 4 Vehicles APC - EE 11Urutu Transport Truck - Merc. Benz 1418 Transport Plane - C130 Transport Chopper - BlackHawk* Transport Chopper - Cougar Attack Chopper - UH-1H* Attack Chopper - HM-1 Pantera Light Attack Chopper - Fennec(esquilo) Boat - "Voaderia" *place holders FARC Handheld Assault Rifle - M16a2 Assault Rifle - AK47 Assault Rifle - Fn Fal Assault Rifle - Galil SAR Assault Rifle - AK74m/u ShotGun - Remington 870 Automatic Machine Gun - M60 Marksman rifle – Dragunov Light anti-tank – RPG Vehicles Light assault vehicle - Pickup truck(PR-insurgency) Transport Vehicle – Civilian cars(PR-insurgency) MOD TEAM Modelers [R-CON] Exec, Salmonella Skinners(Uv & Textures) Mafia_do_Osama Coders Stinger, Salmonella Mappers Salmonella, zenrique Military advisers Borisbr, RdClZn |

This is my new favorite faction, i LOVE the current jungle maps in PR. And these WIP's look ever better !
also this boat: I have very little knowledge of brazlian army, but with such a importance on boat and helicopter travel in maps, could you not use a more armoued kind of boat? |
