Attack helicopter AH-2 SABRE
"This Saturday (17), the Air Force Command will incorporate the collection of aircraft Air Force (FAB) three helicopters AH-2 Sabre, Russian-made, from a total of 12 aircraft acquired. The ceremony will occur in the military airbase of Porto Velho (BAPV) at 11 am, with the presence of Defense Minister Nelson Jobim and the Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General of the Air-Juniti Saito.
Sabre AH-2 is a combat helicopter that has great firepower and can be used in missions to escort other helicopters, air interdiction and to support ground troops. The aircraft is known worldwide as MI-35 and its design has been tested in combat in various conflicts. The new helicopters will equip the Second Squadron of the Eighth Aviation Group (2 / 8 ? GAV), Air Unit Air Base recently relocated from Recife (BARF) for BAPV. " Source: FAB For?a A?rea Brasileira Translation: Google Translator I like the PR connoisseur and lover of my country, I am a reader of the forum and today I found researching materials, videos of television and many more articles about it. For Portuguese speakers here will put a video on it. It would perhaps be a bit "violent" use of a helicopter cons of the FARC, but sources said that 12 army helicopters were incorporated into the Amazon, and will be used to combat drug trafficking ... And indeed it is the only really first helicopter attack as told by the Brazilian commander of the army in the video. "Being the first Brazilian attack helicopter ..." commander of the army. So I leave here a suggestion regarding this helicopter, since the project is proposed to use some of the army helicopters as attack helicopters, maybe replacing one of these, do not know ... is in charge of administration, but would like to bring this news to our dear forum members. |

Re: Attack helicopter AH-2 SABRE
The Army's chopper program isn't decided yet. Maybe we will buy more MI-35s but what the army command wants is the MI-28s.
Still, heavy attack choppers aren't planned for the first release of the Community Faction, as it was told many times, the current focus in Infantry Combat and Transport Vehicles only. |

Re: Attack helicopter AH-2 SABRE
Sure, I understand and I figured this answer, but at least I found relevant information from forum members about this acquisition, perhaps for a future in using it, but something I thought even say peculiar, the government wants to use the same helicopter combat drug traffickers and militias that pension reside in the forest, there would be something more powerful for use in dense jungle with a view to an enemy that does not have the same firepower ... Also clear that the purchase of these helicopters is not just for this, but this will be used for that ... I'd be scared if I were drug traffickers. Hehe '
