VOIP problem

Hi; I've been searching for the answer to this for 2 nights and can't find it.

About a month ago my power supply fried forcing me to uninstall my 8800gt until I get a new ps. In the meantime I installed my old 7600gt and something weird happened.
At first, BF2 wouldn't even start. it'd go black for 3 seconds on start up and back to desktop. I fixed that by clearing out some files. This, I believe is relevant because now VOIP won't work at all.
I know it isn't my microphone that's broken, because it works on skype and CS fine. Before my computer troubles, VOIP worked fine, not it doesn't. I have zero idea what happened.

I made a little progress when I read that when the threshold is at 0% on the mic test (ingame) that you can hear yourself... but that didn't help ingame VOIP at all.

Personally, I believe VOIP is the heart of teamwork, which is the heart of this mod. I feel kinda... naked when I play now :P

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
