PR v0.7 - Typical FPS while playing PR
We are currently evaluating some custom shader effects for Project Reality and since there seems to be some connection between effect duration and the client's frames per second. This is not 100% confirmed but I would like to use this opportunity to see what FPS you typically have while playing PR.
To find out your FPS, while playing PR hit the console button (the "`" key to the left of the "1" key) and type in the command "renderer.drawfps 1" without the quotes and your FPS will be displayed in red text in the top left corner. P.S: It is not necessary to post your system specs or any text messages. When choosing your FPS go with what you usually have while playing and not the lows or peaks. |

I'm playing the game on all high/very high, 4X AA, and the maximum resolution (don't know what it is... 1280 X 1120 or something).
When I close out all my backround tasks, I generally get a solid 30-35 frames. In heated combat it usually drops to about 25-30. In some of the larger maps (like Al Basrah or Fool's Road) my frame rate drops down to 15-20. Im playing w/ a 7950GT and 2 Gigs of RAM. |

around 40-99 depending on effect. Weird thing is even though my FPS counter in TS Overlay is saying 40's and up, I am still getting major stuttering on smoke and other large effects.

This can be weird, I advise everyone to reboot before playing pr if possible. On some maps I drop to 20fps or less, usually its close to 100.
PR is funny because we are working on a 2 and a half year old engine but still it can help to have the very latest video card to run it. Most of the time Im fine with less though |

Everything from 15 to 5 FPS, but hey 1GB of RAM and Vista...Just not good. Therefore I will play when I have got some new stuff.
