check the task manager when this happens to see if you have the apropriate programs running
if so its likely to be a firewall/connection problem
i suggest temporarily disabling all your security tools for testing purposes - however its quite a risk, if u are not using a router

if one or both processes are missing it should be a different problem
i sometimes get pb problems when BF2 ctd'd - starting and closing bf2/pr via the "Exit" button then restarting the game seems to fix it for me then. do you close pr by console command, alt-f4 or exit button? (no clue if there acutally is a difference)

Hi,
I exit PR with the exit button, but when i do this i always get an error sound, but no error message!

yeah i get the same problem but try playing in windowed mode. edit the pr shortcut target to fullscreen 0 and i think when i play with extremely low graphic settings it usually works. I THINK im not sure.

the error sound is totally normal for bf2 (pings twice for me)

i dont see how resolution/video settings can effect punkbuster

I don´t think so, that graphic settings can be a help to fix the PR Bug!
