PRMumble not connecting in-game

Got a problem with PR Mumble(beta):

My original Mumble installation used to work fine, then I installed PR Mumble (Beta) as recommended in the main forum thread, and now the damned thing won't connect me in-game (i.e. I can still hear everyone at once when playing).

I have triple checked that I'm on the right server, so am stuck really.

Have searched the forums but haven't been able to find an answer, can anyone give me a hint plz?

Suffering the same problem, my install broke before I installed the PR version, and I havnt been able to fix it through any amount of fiddleing, uninstalls and reinstalls.

One thing I havnt tried is using mumble with another one of the supported games, or BF2 for that matter. Just to see if this is a mumble problem, or a BF2 or PR problem.

What type of system are you using, Sound Card?? OS??

Possibly good news here,

Talking to a guy last night, reported the exact same symptoms that you and I are experiencing, he completely uninstalled and reinstalled BF2 and that fixed his problem.

I assume that woud entail, uninstalling PR, uninstalling BF2 and then reinstalling everything again.

I will try this tomorrow after then new patch comes out, I will report back.
If you get to it before I do, please post back as to whether it worked or not.

Did you uninstall the config files for oringal mumble?

That is a source of many problems in .4 as they share the same config file

.5 will have this fixed.

.5 is coming....hopefully....Twisted said it was....

Pancho, will let you know if it works, but am not sure if I get to get anything done this weekend (a major pain with 0.86 coming out....).

Rudd, your point is also good, I probably have a messed up Mumble Installation because daft as I am I forgot to uninstall the original Mumble before putting PR Mumble on. As a result, it would crash each time I tried to save my settings, only worked after de-installing and deleting the entire 'old' Mumble Folder and the settings file.

But all that fiddling has probably caused some permanent problem, so will try the full un- and reinstall routine.

Try the uninstall with the both boxes ticked for the complete mumble uninstall first, but I actually got mine fixed, First I uninstalled PR then BF2 then Mumble, then I reinstalled BF2, 1.41 patch, PR, Mumble, ran PBsetup, and VWALLA its fixed..

Major PITA, but the fact that it works makes it worth it..

My next trick will be to run the MINIDISK image again and see if that is what broke the install in the first place, but I think I will play a while first

Well, im just looking forward to PR Mumble .5 coming out, will make things easier maybe?

Remember to use the direct sound thingy, not a sound card, ive heard that ruins it too.

Hey Guys,

Well, it seems to be working for me now as well, after a major un- and reinstallation session...I had forgotten just how long the BF 1.41 patch takes to run through, and the PR core installer won't move under Vista for at least 10 minutes after clicking the EXE before anything happens...

But in the end it worked, tested it in-game and I am now once again a happy mumbler.

So thanks for the good advice, may Mumble .5 improe things even further....
