Hellfire Lockon
I've spent a bit of time in the apache, and every time, it's simply locked the hellfire missiles on a vehicle target by holding right mouse button over the target. But tonight, I couldn't get it to lock on for anything.
Does this behavior change between difficulty settings, or was it just a fluke? |

Re: Hellfire Lockon
Using Hellfire missiles in the Realitymod requires a ground laser designator, you can't lock on to vehicles from the helicopter.

Re: Hellfire Lockon
This is incorrect. You surely can lock to the vehicles and this is the way you get the auto range finder and shot pointer to your 30mm gun so the bullets land directly to the vehicle even if it where driving.

Re: Hellfire Lockon
I stand corrected My seat is behind the gunner so I'm no expert sorry.
As for the Hellfire missile chasing you; Imagine a ground trooper is lasing you or the building your in, the Hellfire chase the end of the beam, no matter if it's a vehicle of a softie. Would be a waste of immense firepower though. The missile can be corrected slightly in flight, by the laser designator (as far I remember a DEV wrote in another post) |

Re: Hellfire Lockon
Pilot find's a target, locks it with "Tab" and the CO-Pilot fires.... that's all the magic.
