Default [Possible bug] CAS No missile marker for gunner

This is a video my friend captured when we were practicing CAS on a local coop server. Notice the lack of missle marker when he fires the LG.

Compare that with this quick video on my machine. The marker appears, then moves when I click again.

He gets the same behaviour in the Apache as well. Is this a bug, or something to do with graphic settings?

Here are his system specs.

To me looks like a bug with that circle marker, usually you don't have that marker in PR... So your PC or game has a little bug apparently (afaik). But maybe the DEVs know the issue.

It's a server thing if not mistaken.

Local machines, aka your computer, will make that circle

Dedicated machines, aka most internet servers, will not make that circle.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

On local servers the target is fixed (you can re-set the target by clicking elsewhere), on internet servers it's not and you guide the missile by moving your mouse.

Don't know why it works like that.

This is wrong. you always guide it by clicking on a new location, on dedicated servers however you wont see the target (circle). It is just one of those bf2 quirks

Mineral: TIL that Wire-guided missiles actually use wire

Last time I played you just needed to keep the mouse pressed and move it to guide the missile...

Then you didnt have to hold down that button to guide it xD Only guided HAT kits need LMB to hold down.

That sort of makes sense. I was running a local coop server while he connected via Hamachi so this is probably why it wasn't showing up for him. But if that's what happens on a dedicated server then it's no big deal.

Thanks everyone for your input.

As i know on a dedicated server u fly a missile and change path in mid flight if u move mouse and press "shoot button" again! But u must be careful cause if u press to many times and missile already hit the target u will shoot another missile right away. ;D

And on the coop servers u have also two different types of CAS, one for bots and one for humans, and on the some severs u can actualy fly bots CAS, which is very different from human cas.
