PC Build for PR
Hi guys.
I want to build new PC specially for PR and FH2. Will this build work? CPU C2D e6500 MB Asus P5KLP-AM SE 4gb RAM and XFX8800gts Alpha Dog Edition? It will cost me much less than buying new parts from store. Or should i build a newer PC like Pentium G4400 or AMD A6-6420K P.S. Last time i played PR (1 year ago) i had p45 MB e8600 CPU and 9800GT and i was able to max out, but on g31 MB and e8400 with 9800GT i got lag when looking at large maps with 100 players online. |

Re: PC Build for PR
Hello!
The most important thing for PR is a CPU with good single thread performance as this old engine only runs on one core. Check out this list: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html If your CPU scores high on that list, the game will run fine. Quote:
Are you familiar with building/upgrading PCs or are you looking for a prebuilt? How much do you want to spend? Used or new? | |

Re: PC Build for PR
Yes I'm familiar with pc building/upgrade. Yep refractor 2 engine uses only one core.
Basically I ended up today with this system : Asus P8H61-M LX. Pentium G840 and 4gb ram. graphics are inbuild Intel hd2000. price 120€ It will be cheaper for me plus I can upgrade later for i5 and some hd7950 if necessary. G840. with 9800gt should run it I think? P.S. Yes I'm gona buy used pc than upgrade it. Yep g840 is ~100 points higher then e8600. how much RAM I need 4gb or 6? |

Re: PC Build for PR
4GB will work. If you plan on using the integrated graphics you should get more.
I am not familiar with the used market in Latvia but don't you have access to something faster for 120€? For example I can get used HP prebuilts with an i5 2400 for 100 bucks. |

Re: PC Build for PR
I ran PR for years fine with a 8800GT setup. You should be ok with one 9800GT.
Just get the best single thread performing CPU you can. |
